Ward 24, Surgical Services is seeking to employ highly motivated, enthusiastic registered nurses to join the team.

These roles are part time, working 64 hours a fortnight (0.8FTE) rostered, rotating shifts.
The role/s are challenging, varied and offer an opportunity to join an enthusiastic, progressive nursing team who pride themselves on providing quality nursing care to patients/families. We welcome applications from registered nurses with a current practising certificate, recent surgical experience and a commitment to the provision of excellent patient care. Current PDRP Level 2 (or working toward Level 3) is desirable. Key responsibilities are outlined in the job descriptions and person specifications. Surgical services inpatient wards provide acute/elective services for patients of varying ages and a variety of surgical conditions. MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
