We are seeking applications from experienced nurses to provide nursing support for patients transferring by ambulance to neighbouring Districts. The service currently runs five days a week but may require the occasional weekend shift.Hours of work will be 20 hours (0.5FTE) rolling roster across Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm. Additionally, this will include a casual component to allow for flexibility across weekends when a cardiac transfer is required/requested.Primarily these will be patients from ward 28/CCU who require interventional treatment at Wellington Hospital.This is an opportunity to provide clinical nursing support for patients and their whanau during the transfer process.The number of nurses joining this initiative will determine the frequency of participating in the patient transfer roster.Key components of this role:The transfer nurses will work 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.You will be employed as a registered nurse in MidCentral.You will have completed Advanced Life Support and have advanced cardiac rhythm knowledge and recognition.When you are working a transfer day you will be based with the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC).When not undertaking transfers you will be under the direction of the Senior Duty Nurse Manager or delegate and may be asked to support across the organisation.
