About the role
It’s an exciting time to be part of Fire and Emergency NZ, our vision is to build stronger communities and protect what matters most to the people within them. As an HR Manager you will play a key role in delivering on this vision, as well as supporting the establishment of a new District model and work closely with District and Group managers to ensure new ways of working are embedded. We are looking for an expert generalist, who can manage a portfolio, and guide and mentor a senior advisor.
Our environment is complex and unique – 12,000 volunteers, and 2,700 staff (a mix of operational and non-operational); it’s busy, every day is different and extremely rewarding. You will bring significant HR, IR and ER experience, along with ability to coach, mentor and guide, Managers and team members alike. Your focus on improving the capability of people leaders and supporting our people will help ensure our focus remains on getting trucks to incidents to save lives. You’ll be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and enjoy managing and solving complex issues. We need a good thinker, and someone who is proactive, driven and outcome focused.

Salary for this role is $120,509 - $133,899
