Job Description:We are seeking for a talented, passionate Diversional & Recreational Therapist to join our Summerset Wigram Village.
The role empowers you to create a recreational programme for seniors living in a care supportive environment. You will be leading a culture of purposeful engagement which promotes dignity and independence through therapeutic recreation process. 
This is a permanent, part time role.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Promoting meaningful activities that meet the needs of residentsEmpowering residents to make choicesSupport residents to maintain autonomy and maximise independenceEncourage and support residents to participate and engage in purposeful recreational programmesApplying the APIED process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation) for individual or group recreational programmesQuality Control and quality assurance of the recreational activities (monitoring, analysing, reviewing, reporting) Qualifications:Who are we looking for? A passionate, flexible, self-motivated, innovative, open-minded individualA person with sound understanding of holistic person center approach and high level of human awareness (empathy & compassion)A person who can run individual and group recreational activitiesA person with good communications skills and strong willingness to learnFull valid NZ Driver Licence and the ability to drive a Mobility VanA registered (qualified and licensed) Diversional and Recreational Therapist is desirable. If you don't hold a DRT Licence, or if you are not are not a Qualified DRT, you must be willing to complete the NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Additional Information:We offer:  A unique role that enables you to make a real difference in the lives of senior citizensA friendly and supportive teamProfessional development opportunities and ongoing supportCompetitive hourly rates (depending on qualification, registration and experience)The ability to create and deliver innovative recreational programmesA weekend rate of an additional 40 percent of the hourly rateIf you believe you are the person for this role, then we would love to hear from you!
