Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity The Clinical Tutor is our wayfinder to guide the next generation of radiation therapists through their clinical training at Waikato. In addition to supporting our students the tutor also assists our clinical educator and provides clinical support when required across the whole RT service.

Key responsibilities of the role:
Ensure the undergraduate radiation therapy training is supported and co-ordinated to facilitate optimal clinical exposure. Ensure the undergraduate clinical experience meets the education provider's requirements. Support the Clinical Educator in wider service education requirements. Seek opportunities to provide prospective students information on careers in radiation therapy. Our centre is an all Varian environment (TrueBeam, Halcyon with Hypersight, Bravos) and delivers advanced treatment techniques, incorporating SABR, IGRT and HyperArc SRT. Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:
Wide range of advanced radiation therapy knowledge gathered over many years practicing as a radiation therapist. Proven leadership, self-awareness and maturity when dealing with complex situations. High level of emotional intelligence and ability to connect and communicate knowledge with students. Registration and current practising certificate (without restrictions) as a Radiation Therapist with the New Zealand MRTB. A proven desire to grow your knowledge, ideally having postgraduate learning in adult education. The Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in the metropolis of Hamilton, New Zealand. This unit serves a large, diverse regional population of approximately 850,000, has approximately 120 staff. We are comprised of an Oncology Department (which includes Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy outpatient treatment areas), an Inpatient Ward, Palliative Care Service and a Haematology Outpatient Department.
