Prevocational Education Supervisor

We are looking to appoint a Prevocational Educational Supervisor (0.1FTE)The Prevocational Educational Supervisor (PES) will supervise up to 10 RMOs over their prevocational training, contribute to the teaching programme and offer pastoral care and career advice to their allocated RMOs.The PES is a Medical Council NZ role, based at Te Whatu Ora Waitemata, supporting doctors through PGY1 and PGY2 including NZ graduates, NZREX pathway candidates and new to region PGY1+2 doctors.Key to the role is liaison with the Director of Clinical Training, the Medical Education and Training Unit and service-based Clinical Supervisors, to ensure the best possible learning opportunities and training for prevocational doctors.This is an important and rewarding role supporting up to 10 PGY1 and / or PGY2 doctors a year.Prevocational Educational Supervisors must : Be in good standing with the Medical Council of New ZealandHold a vocational scope of practiceHave sound clinical medicine, management and interpersonal skillsBe a professional role model for prevocational doctorsBe approachable and easily accessible to prevocational doctorsAble to offer pastoral care and take an active interest in ensuring health and wellbeingConfident to support struggling traineesBe an able advocate and mentorBe supportive and knowledgeable about prevocational education, the New Zealand health system and career pathways and opportunities for doctorsAttend PES and MCNZ meetings regularlyComplete training as required including annual MCNZ trainingTo view a position description click herePlease apply on-line at www.wdhbcareers.comJob code : WDHB18183Closing date : 30th April 2024#J-18808-Ljbffr
