We have a unique opportunity for a Project Engineer to join and support our high performing team based in Whangarei. This is a key role for our region, and will be part of setting the direction and overseeing the daily management, development and delivery of the business.
This role offers diversity, challenge, and an ability to make your mark. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be pro-active, self-motivated and enthusiastic! The position will require you to demonstrate a commitment to health and safety in the workplace, plus take a high level of initiative. Ideally you will have proven experience in leading projects and managing contractors.
You will be responsible for: Management of project team, subcontractors and local labour crew
Adherence to company safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures
Ensure all plant is maintained regarding the suitability, safety, operating condition and cost-effectiveness
Cost Mangement
Prepare a specific programme to achieve the construction dates and milestones
Lead and champion Fulton Hogan best practices, work procedures, health and safety, environment and quality procedures, customer relationship management on all projects
Ensure Fulton Hogan procedures for supplier and subcontractor management are followed and all paperwork is completed for set up
Manage and develop internal capability
Skills and experience that will ensure your success; Over five years' experience in a Project Engineering role within Construction or contracting
High computer literacy including Microsoft excel and data collection software
Experience managing long and short-term contracts, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Well organised to be able to manage multiple projects on the go at any one time
