Mo te tunga About the roleThe purpose of the Senior Aeronautical Hydraulic Specialist is twofold : to manage, supervise, and train junior tradesmen, as well as conduct a range of producer type tasks in the Hydraulic Bay.The Manager-type function of this role includes close supervision of unqualified tradesmen and the general supervision and authorisation of the work completed by qualified junior tradesmen.The Senior Producer -function of this role will include overhauls, bay servicing, and testing of hydraulic components.A typical day might include :Carrying out maintenance activities of aeronautical systems and components in order to maintain continued airworthiness and serviceability.Providing technical expertise and innovation in support of capability development.Providing trade specialist support to all base sections as a subject matter expert in aeronautical hydraulic systems.Once you are established in the role, there is some flexibility surrounding your working conditions, although this is to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.Please Note : The formal title for this role within NZDF is Supervisor Hydraulic Bay.Nga pukenga me nga wheako Skills and ExperienceThis is a specialised role, and as such we are looking for an experienced aircraft technician (military or civilian equivalent) to join us and own this role.As such, you will need to possess exceptional communication and leadership skills; many of the staff in the hydraulic bay are young individuals (18-25 yo) who would benefit from meaningful communication bordering on mentorship.Additionally, you will also possess :An in-depth knowledge of aircraft systems and the computer / maintenance systems that manage parts, repairs, and other associated logistics.Any SAP experience would be highly beneficial.Both theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft hydraulic systems.Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Word and Excel.Flexibility to work outside of the hydraulic bay to assist other engineering units.Please note : This role may require domestic travel to NZDF camps and bases, therefore a full and clean Driver's License is essential.Nou te rourou What's in it for youYour skills and dedication deserve recognition, and NZDF delivers with competitive pay matched to your experience.But that's just the beginning safeguard your loved ones with a fully funded life cover of up to $300,000 and critical illness protection.Other benefits include discounted additional insurances, free will services and savings schemes for the Defence community.Get expert financial guidance and mortgage broker services.
