Waiu Dairy was founded by 11 local Maori entities and Imanaka Ltd (Japan), based on a shared vision and strong values of guardianship, sustainability, social responsibility, perseverance and self-determination. "Waiu" is a Maori name suggested by one of our kaumatua. It has several meanings. We interpret it as "sustenance" as that is what the products we make are intended to give - sustenance in the form of health and wellbeing. Waiu Dairy is a nimble dairy processing operation designed to utilise renewable energy and maximise technological advances. We specialise in producing highest quality milk powders and butter for export to multiple overseas markets. We now have a great opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Production Systems Specialist to join our team. About the role As part of a team, your responsibilities will include: Critical Control Point checks and sign offs, ERP integration and materials consumption against each production order. Recording and reconciling incoming raw dairy materials. Maintaining production records and ensuring documentation meets strict internal and external audit requirements at all times. Investigating quality, yield, composition, downtime, losses, health and safety or environmental issues at the direction of the Plant Manager and providing a report on findings. Working with production teams to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are up-to-date. Maintaining training records of all production staff as required. Qualifications & experience required Prior dairy or food manufacturing experience, minimum 3 years. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Planning and organising skills. Excellent attention to detail. Clear and effective communication skills, with ability to deal with conflict. Strong cultural and ethical values. Good to have: Experience with continuous improvement methodologies/lean manufacturing concepts. Proven leadership skills.
