Principal Engineer - Hydraulic Modeller /Flood Risk Management Harper Smith is proud to have partnered with e2Environmental Consulting Engineers to undertake the recruitment of this highly specialised and unique role based in Christchurch. e2Environmentalis a highly experienced, full service civil engineering consultancy specialising in 3 waters engineering and land development. From infrastructure enhancements to greenfields residential and commercial projects, e2Environmental takes extraordinary pride in delivering creative and commercially savvy solutions in partnership with their clients. Services include investigations and pre-development advice, consenting, options assessment, full design services, project management, construction observation and contract management.
The team is growing and has a reputation for technical excellence and quality across the country. With a proud history of partnering with their clients to deliver creative and commercially sound engineering resolutions across New Zealand, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to their Christchurch team. You will need to have a background of working in the NZ market in a similar senior level position.
The company has a strong environmental focus and will offer you the chance to work on a diverse range of projects. You will need to have strong modelling skills and a history of working in flood management within NZ. You will be providing technical input and guidance to the team and developing solutions for a range of environmental projects throughout the country. Experience in river engineering and 3 waters engineering with a focus on stormwater management would be highly considered. Additionally, the role will encompass managing a small team of talented and ambitious engineers.
Experience needed:
A Chartered Professional Engineer (or close) with a Civil or Natural Resources degree (though an equivalent tertiary qualification will be considered).More than 7 years' experience in flood assessments, hydrology and hydraulic modelling in New ZealandCompetent modeller with an ability to develop and review complex hydraulic modelsSkills using or interpreting results with software such as InfoWorks ICM, MIKE DHI, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW and GIS.Ability to produce information and reports for flood risk assessmentsKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations on water resources management and flood risk assessmentLeadership skills as will managing a small team and leading projects across the wider businessPersuasive communication skills and be client focused with the ability to identify new business opportunities.This is an excellent opportunity to work in a pivotol role within a very established company in Christchurch.
