This crucial position contributes a foundational knowledge base and specialized expertise, fostering the success of a diverse array of teaching and research endeavors. Ensuring a high level of support, the role emphasizes exceptional mentoring, creating a positive and enriching educational experience for students at UC. While centered on core responsibilities, this role demands a highly motivated individual who consistently demonstrates initiative, continually seeking innovative ways to add value within our dynamic and evolving organization. Mou | Who You Are A successful applicant will have significant (minimum 3 years) experience working on complex and diverse engineering R&D projects in the general field of Mechanical Engineering, including the following: Significant experience (minimum 3 years) working on complex projects that required application of both experimental and computational fluids analysis, either together or separately. Ability to use general workshop tools and specialised laboratory equipment in a safe and proficient manner. Ability to document work to a professional standard, including writing technical engineering reports. Ability to read technical drawings and specifications. An understanding of the engineering research environment and of technical experimental design. Proficient computer user including competence in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and data acquisition/control (e.g. National Instruments LabView) programmes. A working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, legislation and obligations to other staff, students and visitors.
