Nga kawenga |About the role As the Principal Adviser Pay Equity you will be the subject matter expert on pay equity across Ara Poutama Aotearoa, ensuring that we meet our obligations under the Equal Pay Act 1972.
In this complex and challenging role, you'll collaborate closely with unions, our Employment Relations team, senior leadership , the Public Service Commission, and other key stakeholders to progress pay equity claims efficiently and effectively.
Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining pay equity standards for settled claims, developing and driving processes and approaches aligned to legislation, best practice, and available published guidance. Additionally, you'll contribute to the implementation of Kia Toipoto initiatives, as required within the employment relations team.

Extensive experience managing and leading pay equity claims, particularly in the public sector, with thorough knowledge of employment law and pay equity legislation.In-depth understanding of processes and requirements for reporting on Pay Equity Claims to Ministerial Oversight Groups and Pay Equity Taskforces.Strong interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across teams to achieve shared objectives, and the ability influence, guide, and coach senior leaders and specialists.Exceptional writing skills, capable of drafting, editing, and reviewing detailed documents with precision.The midpoint of the salary range is $143,461 and the full range(85%-120%) is $121,942 - $172,154.Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
