Nga korero mo te turanga - About the role We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who will assist in conducting research and software development for the Ahuora project using their software engineering knowledge. The key focuses areas are: * back-end functionalities for digital twin analysis of complex process systems including API structures to facilitate front-end back-end communication * management and deployment strategies for processes across a Kubernetes architecture for appropriate resource allocations * full stack architecture and implementation decisions for a cloud software platform, including integration of authentication structures to facilitate online collaboration The salary for this role is $84,337 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (based on 37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus. For more information on the role please see the position description here. Along with your PhD in software engineering or equivalent, you will also have: * evidence of full stack web development including emphasis on interactions between frontend components and backend functionality and data structures * implementation experience in containerisation and cloud orchestration frameworks (ideally Docker and Kubernetes) * experience with API development within Python frameworks (ideally Flask and/or Django), database structures and transactions (ideally Postgres), and frontend component development (ideally using JavaScript or TypeScript) * the ability to provide leadership and support to students, especially graduate students, and to support and assist academic staff in teaching duties.
