Policy, Planning & Regulation (Government & Defence)This could be an important step on a journey that not only sees you living and working in this amazing and iconic part of Aotearoa but also leading a team passionate about delivering the best outcomes for our district and community.The Mackenzie District Council has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our team and build on and continue the mahi (work) that we have been undertaking.As our Planning Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of six Planners (all at varying stages of their careers) whilst overseeing a range of diverse work such as completing our current District Plan review, resource consent applications and compliance, contributing to our strategic and operational planning, monitoring environmental impacts and ensuring regulatory compliance, advising Council on RMA reform and legislative changes, and ensuring that our strong relationships with mana whenua are maintained. These activities are only a snapshot of what you will be doing as our Planning Manager as there is more than meets the eye to this role.
