Protective Services sit within the wider Enterprise Protection unit under Operational Excellence. Protective Services respond to all physical security events and threat management from customer aggression through to robbery. We look after the physical security architecture in all BNZ sites.
This is a newly created role within BNZ so you have the opportunity to make your mark. You would be working in a large organisation which isn't just guarding - we are more than guarding, we look after everything security related and offer good career progression with many options. You will be provided with a corporate suit, be part of a team driven by excellence and be provided regular training and updates to keep you up to speed!

We sat down with the Head of Protective Services, and they let us know the following about the role:
For this Hamilton based opportunity you will need to hold a full, clean drivers licence and be familiar with the local area, as there will be a requirement to drive to various locations on a daily basis. A car will be available to use during the day for work purposes.
What are 5 day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete? Be a welcoming concierge for front of house customer enquiries and assist customers and staffGuard BNZ branches and Corporate sitesDe-escalate, diffuse and calm situations and know what immediate action to takeServing trespass and exit noticesReport writing following incidentsWhat is the team culture and environment like? A close-knit team even though we're spread throughout the country. We are collaborative and support and encourage diversity.
What do we want you to know before you apply? You will be polished, articulate and approachable with the ability to calmly diffuse situations. While some guarding experience and a security licence is advantageous, it is not essential. 
What will success look like for the candidate in this role? Less customer aggression or serious incidents in branch.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role? Calm demeanour, people person, able to look alert for long periods of time and de-escalation techniques.
