Hays legal are working with one of Australias leading regulatory bodies as they look to add a number of lawyers into their Sydney based teams.
Your new role
This permanent, full-time opportunity will see you working within a smaller technical legal team within the organisation as an in-house counsel, advising on a mix of general corporate and commercial legal matters , and technical banking and financial services legal matters. You will be advising on questions relating to financial products, models, bonds, organisation structure, shareholder structures, liquidity regulations, AFSL requirements, and more.
You will be interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders of the organisation on a regular basis, as well as the policy team, treasury teams, and investigators.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have an Australian practicing certificate with 3-5 years post qualification experience from a leading-tier law firm, or in-house at a financial institution.
You will have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of legislation, relevant ASIC Regulatory Guides and APRA Prudential Standards, that affect the banking, insurance and superannuation industries. Experience advising on financial services licensing, policy development and/or regulatory investigations would be advantageous.
