The opportunity and role
Our Estate Litigation practice group in Melbourne requires an experienced Lawyer to be part of their established and busy team. This is a contract position for a period of twelve months.
Our Estate Litigation team are instrumental in managing disputes including contested estate litigation and disputed wills. This position represents a rare opportunity for those who enjoy working closely with clients throughout Australia. You will be integral in driving the development of the practice.
You will be required to take responsibility for the ongoing and effective resolution and carriage of a wide range of file matters. This is an existing practice with a steady of flow of new opportunities.
In addition to taking on a wide range of legal matters within a dynamic practice group, you will also utilise existing referral sources and participate in business development opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Consulting and negotiating with clients to understand issues and minimise problems
Conducting and managing new client enquiries and matters while maintaining service levels
Managing client expectations on difficult and complex matters
Working closely with and develop ingrelationships with Senior Practitioners and legal professionals
Supervising, coaching and knowledge sharing with your team
To be successful
You will be a committed, enthusiastic and experienced Estate Litigation Lawyer who is looking for an opportunity to take carriage of several files. You will consider yourself to be proactive, passionate and results driven.
Your resume will ideally display the following experience and qualities:
Previous experience and a passion for Estate Litigation matters
A minimum of three years post admission experience
Exposure to working with sensitive cases, generating positive outcomes for clients
Experience in managing your own files with minimum supervision
Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management
Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously
