About the role We're launching into the Beef Market! This is an opportunity to set up an entirely new market from scratch. The Beef industry has not had a disruptive and influential product in years and this is your chance to make a huge impact. We're looking for our very first hire for the Beef Market in the north island.
We are searching for a driven and skillful Business Development Executive to work alongside and grow Halter's Beef customers. This is a unique, high-stakes role working with some of New Zealand's best livestock farmers and having a real-world impact. It is an opportunity to positively disrupt an industry and pioneer groundbreaking change to an industry the world needs. You will be leading the Beef expansion in the Waikato for one of the world's fastest-growing companies by helping equip farms with Halter technology that will transform the way they farm to become more productive and sustainable. You will be backed by a team of exceptional people on the ground and at Halter's Auckland HQ, to ensure this is the best job you'll ever have.
We're open to someone who does not have sales experience. If you're in a current role and thinking about switching over to sales + have the intangibles that we're looking for, then we'd love for you to apply. What your day could look likeSales meetings: Understanding the business drivers, needs and problems. Work with them to clearly communicate functionality, and benefits and highlight value relative to each farm, while working through complex sales cycles.Cross-functional collaboration: Work intimately with product, customer success and support teams to ensure exceptional results for beef accounts.Prospecting: Building and growing a pipeline of Beef farms fit for Halter, while continuously reducing sales cycle times. Managing newly sourced and inbound leads through the initial stages of the pipeline including screening and qualifying.Networking: Building and leveraging industry relationships to establish and maintain Halter's brand.Forecasting: Working with the Business Development Manager to enable monthly and quarterly forecasting of revenue.Growth initiatives: Working with the Business Development Manager to optimise and evolve the sales process to become faster, more efficient, and more predictable as the company scales.Who we're looking forA deep passion for helping farmers succeed. Experience in farm systems or within the agricultural sector.A hunter. Someone who is driven to exceed goals not necessarily in a traditional sales role but at least in a similar professional role. Our Office First Approach (For Auckland Offices) We do have flexible working hours and you can work from home when you need to but we encourage our team to be in the office as much as you can.

Stronger relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, do meaningful work and as a result, be higher performing as a team.
This is applicable mainly for our Auckland office-based roles rather than on-the-road roles in teams such as Customer Success or Business Development teams.
