In-House Accountant (Property Development And Investment Company)

Brooksfield Living is seeking an accountant to join our growing property development company based in Christchurch.
Brooksfield is mainly involved in the development of quality but affordable townhomes but also has investments in industrial property and various other long term investments.
We are seeking an energetic, dedicated and adaptable person to take up this role.
We are looking for the right person to come in and take care of the accounting and financial side of the company including:
- preparing GST returns for various entities;
- undertaking general accounting and bookkeeping duties across the organisation and entities using Xero;
- preparing models and budgets against current costs on development projects;
- preparing drawdown schedules for development and managing this process with lenders;
- providing accurate and up to date information to private investors and lenders in a timely manner;
- maintaining up to date development records and costings for all projects;
- compiling information required to lenders for funding of projects;
- implementing sound financial and accounting systems within the business;
- communicating and providing information to external accountants;
- arranging payment of contractors and undertaking cash management to ensure timely payment of all creditors;
- setting up and maintaining entities as required for new projects; and
- handling all information in a confidential manner.
We are looking for someone with 3 - 5 years minimum experience in accounting and preferably experience in property development, finance or construction. CA preferred but not essential.
