Details of the offer

HR Business Partner - Strategic Projects - Auckland
HR Business Partner - Strategic Projects Spectrum Foundation is the parent company for Spectrum Care and Homes of Choice. All three organisations are engaged in activities and services that strive to improve the lives of disabled New Zealanders and their families. Homes of Choice is focussed on the provision of housing, whilst Spectrum Care employs staff that provide a variety of care and support services. The Spectrum Foundation Group has grown steadily over the last 25 years. Together, these three charitable organisations now employ about 1,300 staff across the North Island.
As well as being involved in philanthropy, Spectrum Foundation provides shared services for Spectrum Care and Homes of Choice. As the HR Business Partner - Strategic Projects, you would partner with managers and staff in these organisations to lead and/or assist with the development and implementation of HR initiatives and other improvement projects that enhance the performance and engagement of each workforce, meet each entities' strategic objectives and improve the workforce shared services they receive.
The role reports to the General Manager of People & Culture and resides within a broader workforce shared services team that includes HR, recruitment, learning, and safety specialists. We also work closely with the payroll team.
The business partnering aspect of the job title emphasises the importance of building strong business relationships with your clients in Spectrum Foundation, Spectrum Care and Homes of Choice to understand their operating environment, needs and strategic objectives. The other part of the title communicates that the focus of the role is clearly strategic and not operational. The emphasis is on reviewing, designing, and implementing workforce systems, strategies and tasks - rather than operating them on a day to day basis. Nevertheless, the distinction between strategic and operational tasks can't be rigid and, in a team-based environment, the HR Business Partner will be expected to help out with operational tasks as and when required.
For us, the ideal candidate will have a good grounding across the different strands of HR, including recruitment and health and safety. Then it's being able to apply this knowledge in a project-based environment. That means you are:
Highly organised and motivated with project management skillsEvidence-based and will research best practice solutionsAbility to use technology and harness dataYou build relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholdersYou have exemplary verbal and written communication skills including, for example, drafting proposals and business casesYou enjoy engaging with people in project groups and in a training contextYou believe in social justice and a more equitable societyWhat will you get out of this?
The opportunity to develop and evidence your many skills in a complex environmentA supportive team environmentAn attractive, centrally-based head office (Greenlane)The opportunity to work from home part of the weekThe satisfaction of knowing that what you do contributes to a better, fairer New Zealand.
