We are looking for a Health, Safety and Compliance Lead to join our extremely fast-growing division. We are a newly created operation so this is a genuinely exciting opportunity to really impact our teams H, S and C culture from the inside. We are about to double in size from 60 to 120 in the coming months so there is lots to do!
This role is critical to our operations success. This role will enable H, S & C practices to be embedded in how our work is designed and performed. You'll be leading the continuous evolution of all of our H, S & C practices, ensuring the entire team feel educated and aware when it comes to performing their work and ultimately that everyone goes home safe at the end of the day. You'll spend time in the field understanding our work, making recommendations, creating SOP's and other key documentation, supporting our people leaders all while driving quality and safety audits/ compliance.
This role has one direct report to assist with delivery and implementation, so you'll lead and inspire that person too.
Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, or a related field at NZQA Level 6 or higher.At least 5 years' relevant experience in the health and safety field ideally in a similar environment (maintenance contracting environment, shipping, mining, transport).Previous exposure to fleet/ plant management, facilitation, Damstra/ Vault app would be beneficial.Extremely strong communication and influencing skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where evolving with change is constant.Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, with proven ability to effectively see patterns and connect dots between seemingly unconnected matters.If you are committed, hardworking, smart, honest and have a great sense of humour you'll fit right in!Please note as part of Tauranga City Councils commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, the successful candidate will need to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.If you want to be part of an energetic, fun, and supportive team, then we'd love to hear from you.
