We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have three (3) Health Promotion Advisor | Kaitohu Whakatairanga Hauora vacancies (total of 2.5 FTE) and are looking for experienced health promotion advisors who are committed to reducing health inequities and improving outcomes for communities in Taranaki and across the Te Manawa Taki region.This role works with the Community and Whanau Wellbeing teams, using a community partnership approach to design, deliver, and evaluate collaborative health promotion initiatives in settings such as education, workplaces, marae and through working with local government and other agencies to improve wellbeing. You'll be dedicated to seeing communities thrive and will partner with them to deliver initiatives that realise Pae Ora.
In this role, you will:
Be connector, influencer, and facilitator, as well as advocate and champion of collaborative relationships and community-led development. · Assist the Community and Whanau Wellbeing Team in public health initiatives related to prio rity determinants and issues in Taranaki and across Te Manawa Taki.
· Work closely with local government, iwi and hapu, and our priority communities to bring about positive change on a wide range of areas including smokefree, food security, physical activity, alcohol, mental wellbeing, and the early years.

Previous experience in health promotion, community development, or a related field Hold a tertiary degree in public health, health promotion, social science, education, Maori studies, or a related discipline Demonstrated understanding of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the implications for public health including the determinants of health Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively alongside communities and wider stakeholders · A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
· A willingness to learn and be part of achieving positive change.
