Correct Care Australasia (Correct Care) has entered an exciting phase of growth. Correct Care has been contracted to deliver primary health services to Victorias two Youth Justice custodial precincts: Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct and Parkville Youth Justice Precinct, with service delivery commencing from 1 February 2019.
We are currently recruiting part-time and full-time Primary Care Nurses (Registered Nurse Div1) at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct located in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs.

The Company
Correct Care Australasia is Australia's largest outsourced correctional healthcare provider. Operating across all of Victoria's 14 publicly managed prisons, one private prison and two Youth Justice Precincts Correct Care provides primary healthcare services through a diverse and dispersed workforce of healthcare professionals across metropolitan and rural Victoria.
Custodial settings provide a unique opportunity to address a range of health issues and to meet the health needs of a population that is normally hard to reach.
The Roles
The work is fast paced, varied and challenging. The environment is safe, supportive and will operate on a nurse led model, enabling greater autonomy and job fulfilment.
Shifts will be rostered on a 7 day a week rotating basis (AM, PM and Night shift) across different roles in the healthcare centre.
Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, including medical officers, mental health and OSTP/AOD nurses, allied health providers, as well as our administrative and clinical support staff, these roles provide an opportunity for the successful candidates to work and make a difference with a vulnerable population.
The People
The successful applicants will have:
Registered Nurse (Division 1) qualifications
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
Experience in a variety of primary health care or acute hospital settings
A current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain one)
Enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Be committed to delivering quality primary health care services in a correctional environment
Possess excellent clinical assessment skills and be an effective communicator
Be committed to timely incident reporting, legislative compliance, documentation and developing stakeholder relationships
Have knowledge of Legislation and a genuine commitment to standards and quality practices
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
Previous experience in Custodial Health is not essential, as support and a comprehensive orientation program is provided.
