The service appeals to a wide range of people of different ethnicities because of TRT's philosophy of accepting and valuing all cultural practices.Our WhakataukiSelf-determination for all, regardless of race, colour, creed, iwi, hapu or whanau.Our VisionSuccess though unity – great people, great support, a great tomorrow.Our ValuesStriving for excellence and quality in all that we do.AROHA – KindnessExpressing compassion and joy for others in all that we do.TUMANAKO – ActionBeing proactive to ensure the best outcomes in all that we do.WHAKAPONO – TrustActing with honesty and integrity in all that we do.Who we are looking for:We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager, to join our team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our business and culture.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and being based at our National Office in Otahuhu, Auckland, with travel to our regional sites, this role is pivotal for the continued growth of our service throughout New Zealand.This is a very busy role and requires the successful candidate to hit the ground running.This role is responsible for implementation, development, review, monitoring and evaluation of Health & Safety Plan.You will be required to build and maintain trusted relationships with our teams in all regions, whilst the importance of getting the best safety mindset and practice in place.What you will need to be successful:5-7 years of experience in a specialist H&S role with a relevant H&S qualification.Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices.Support the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Risk plans requirements.Manage relationships with WorkSafe, ACC and other relevant external stakeholders.Working knowledge of the ACC Accredited Employers Programme (AEP) and previous experience managing ACC claims and return to work programmes is preferred.Monitor changes and updates to H&S requirements, standards and regulations and communicate this to the business accordingly.The ability to interpret and apply the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 & Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016, and the relevant Codes of Practice.Provide HSE training and coaching to employees across the business.Role model the company's Health, Safety policies.Ensure completion of internal and external audit requirements.Develop and implement planned safety inspections, housekeeping projects, and other safety initiatives.Ability to operate at both an operational and strategic level building partnerships and stakeholder relationships.Excellent communication and ability to build trusted credible relationships.A down to earth disposition, a professional attitude.A commitment to a Tikanga Maori and knowledge of Te Reo Maori would also be an added advantage.Qualifications and courses:Relevant H&S Tertiary qualificationTravel component (hui/inter-regional travel/training etc.)Clear Ministry of Justice CheckMedical assessmentsWe have excellent employee benefits and an amazing culture for our employees and if you believe you have the skills and competencies for this position and will be a great value add to our team, we look forward to hearing back from you.Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
