Food & Beverage Coordinator - Winter | WhakapapaThe Whakapapa whanau are a small but ambitious team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area. In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola. Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of manuhiri (guests) to Whakapapa, many with life-long connections to the maunga (mountain) and surrounding region, some even third or fourth generation.
Working alongside the Food and Beverage Manager - taking ownership of the day to day operations across the food and beverage outlets, the successful person into this role will provide effective oversight and ensure that each and every guest receives an exceptional level of service.
You'll also be the go-to person for the Head of Department - Food and Beverage to provide an environment that achieves highly engaged staff, maximises revenue and ensures continuous improvement in systems and processes.

Mo te tunga | About the role From summer to winter, the key goal of this position is the same.... engage our team to provide an experience for our guests as unique as our environment. Day to day responsibilities will include:
Oversee the operation and coordination of the Whakapapa Food & Beverage outlets ensuring an efficient and professional operation. Facilitate the day to day summer functions of the KRC ensuring a smooth operation. Managing the restaurant booking system, including hosting guests and assisting floor staff with day to day duties. Keeping the team updated with all required information. Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation ie. Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. Dealing with complaints, compliments and suggestions. Rostering and managing labour in line with budgets, weather and business forecasts. Providing leadership across the department. Minimum 3 years' experience in the Hospitality industry including food, beverage, wine service staff training at a supervisory level. Familiarity with ski area environment and operation will be an advantage A high level of verbal and written communication skills Ability to apply appropriate interpersonal styles within a team Previous experience leading a team (desirable) Gear up for the ultimate work adventure at Whakapapa. Remuneration range for this role is $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience

The receivers continue trading the Company and are working on transferring the ownership of the Whakapapa and Turoa ski areas to new operators. On 18 December, DOC announced public notification of Pure Turoa Limited's concession application to operate Turoa ski area. The Receivers are continuing to work on the sale of Whakapapa.
