A new function within the Digital Public Service Branch, the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework has been established to put ownership and control of digital identity information firmly in the hands of individuals, enabling easy sharing of identity information and reducing privacy and security breaches. The work of the Trust Framework is ground-breaking and will influence the digital landscape for both public and private sector organisations; helping to identify solutions that will support New Zealanders to provide proof of who they are online in an easy, fast and accessible way.
The Digital Identity Services Trust Framework Act 2023 (Trust Framework) establishes the legal framework for this new digital identity ecosystem which includes:
An opt-in regulatory framework for digital identity services; andThe Trust Framework Authority (TFA) which will accredit providers and ensure compliance, the Trust Framework Board (TFB) to govern the system and the Maori Advisory Group to advise the Board on Maori interests.The TFA goes live on 1 July 2024; the Establishment Director is responsible for implementing and leading the TFA.
About you The Establishment Director is an experienced leader and regulator with a comprehensive understanding of the international and NZ digital identity environment.
To be successful in the role you will have:
Extensive experience as a leader delivering results in a complex regulatory environment.Proven success in developing, leading and motivating high performing managers, people and teams that achieve results.Proven success in driving innovation and change to move an organisation towards its desired future and gaining commitment of team members to that future.A history of providing advice to and influencing senior leaders.A good understanding of the digital identity ecosystem within which the TFA operates - Government, private sector, academia, industry, international organisations, civil society.
