Engineering Manager

We're looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting company.

Cheal are now seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in their Napier office. The Hawkes Bay region and economy is continuing to grow with a very positive predicted forward workload in place over the next 10 years. Cheal have been in the region since 2012 and have grown to become one of the premium consulting companies in the region. Due to the increased demand for land development and infrastructure projects, they are now seeing an experienced engineer to come in and lead the existing civil and geotechnical teams with a view to growing the office further. Currently, the Napier team has 10 staff made up of civil and geotechnical engineers, surveyors, planners and administrators so they are perfectly set up to service any project that needs professional engineering services.
In this position, you will use your civil engineering expertise to lead a wide range of small to large land development projects. You will have 3 civil designers who will look after the design aspects and 2 geotechnical engineers reporting to you which will allow you to focus on leading projects and developing existing client relationships. You will be working closely with the Cheal's Director, Civil and the Hawkes Bay Regional Manager who have strong existing local relationships in place already. Although, the role will focus on the local region, there may still be the opportunity to work on other large projects across the central north island that Cheal are involved in.

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
Current CPEng issued by Engineering NZ (or very close to)
Demonstrable Land Development project management experience
Demonstrable client management experience
Ability to lead and manage a small team of designers and geotechnical engineers
Able to work alongside other disciplines within the office and environment
Ambition to grow and develop a team
