Work closely with the legal team to develop the best solutions for the specific needs of each matter.The Technical Manager reports to the Director and is responsible for the provision of technical services and applications to partners, clients and lawyers for the life cycle of legal matters.Key responsibilitiesWork closely with the legal teams on matters to deliver excellent solutions for its legal teams and clients. There is close cooperation between the Technical Manager and the National team. Work on client development activities collaboratively with team members, senior lawyers and partners.Provide technical solutions from a wide range of electronic software tools and technology services that enable legal teams to conduct matters with a comprehensive understanding of their data collection
Implement innovative and efficient methods that facilitate both the forensic and standard collections, management, analysis, review and production of electronically stored information
Assist legal teams settling document discovery protocols
Create and manage documentation pertaining to database creation and maintenance, document import and export, database archiving and restoration, and trouble shooting
Provide technical support to legal teams during case preparation, document review and discovery phases of matters
Use analytics tools to provide deep insights into datasets for the legal teams and for them to gain competitive advantages in the running of their matters
Implement predictive coding methodologies to advance the review of documents
Qualifications, skills and experienceAn Information Technology related degree qualification
A sound knowledge of database concepts and experience in the use of one or more database applications
Experience in database and full text software development / maintenance
An understanding of data management
A sound knowledge of Windows PC and Server environments
Intermediate or above proficiency in SQL, HTML, MS Access and Excel
Good ability to understand and modify source code (VB)
Ability to undertake forensic collections
Technical writing / documentation experience
Excellent analytical, interpretation and problem solving abilities
Ability to quickly distil the desired outcome within a legal request and formulate a technical response that produces that outcome
Separate a technical response into discrete components and oversee their proper execution by the wider Technical Analyst team
