This role can be in Auckland or Wellington.The RoleThe Wealth Management Research team is dedicated to producing research material for use by Wealth Management Advisers and their clients. This role requires experience in navigating the fluctuations of financial markets and conducting high-level analysis of global equity markets, using the latest high-quality research available.The Opportunity:This role will see you contributing to one of New Zealand's largest and most prestigious wealth advisory businesses. You'll be working with very high-calibre leaders, researchers, advisers, and their clients. This is a very exciting and rare opportunity in New Zealand. Your work will help determine asset allocation and bespoke portfolio construction for clients.Key responsibilities include:Contribute to the production of a list of preferred global stocks and associated investment rationales.Provide quantitative and qualitative research on global investment funds, including exchange-traded funds and other listed and unlisted funds.Contribute to the analysis of the outlook for global equity markets for determining the appropriate tactical asset allocation to global equities for New Zealand domiciled investors.Take a high degree of responsibility for constructing and performing global equity model portfolios for use by advisers and clients.Assist in writing the Economics/Strategy and Global Equities sections for quarterly client publications.Produce periodic thought-pieces on topical investment issues for advisers' and clients' interest.Regularly engage with wealth management advisors, equity research analysts, economists, and senior management of listed and unlisted New Zealand companies, and potentially the media.About YouYou will have the ability to simplify complex ideas for retail clients, so naturally, you'll need to be a strong communicator. You'll have previous experience with Bloomberg or Reuters Eikon etc and have a strong interest in financial markets, including structural themes and macro trends that may be shaping and influencing them.
