We are currently seeking someone to be our Heavy Diesel Mechanic at our Queenstown Transport Workshop. This is a full time permanent position based in Queenstown.Joining our Transport crew is more than just working at a ski field – supporting our sister companies throughout the year provides for a wide range of vehicles, equipment and projects that need your skills.Our NZSki community has been growing since and continues to offer the best experience for our crew, locals, and guests alike. Everyone at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt cares for the mountains and shares a passion for snowsports and the surrounding regions.About the RoleReporting to the Transport Operations Manager, the primary role will be the maintenance of our shared bus & light vehicle fleet as well as our associated companies' fleet of trucks, machinery & on track generators.About You Good at problem solving with ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions and requests as directedA positive and proactive attitude, willing to assist with keeping the presentation of the workshop, including cleaning and maintaining yard and depotAble to see the bigger picture and respond accordingly, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and safe mannerAbility to get the job done and work under pressure, with a readiness to learn new tasks and skills that suit the business needsFlexible with work hours during winter operationsPride in your work and a love of the outdoors Skills and Qualifications Hold a current Class 2 drivers licence. Class 4, F endorsement & OSH advantageous.Trade Qualification in relevant mechanical or engineering fieldExperience with heavy diesel, maintenance & trouble shooting. MAN, Isuzu, Hino experience advantageous.Ability to enter maintenance documentation into excel, word or E-road highly regarded.Welding and fabrication skills advantageous.
