Design Manager

Summerset is the third largest retirement village operator in New Zealand. We're passionate about providing quality service to our clients and we are growing quickly, with 21 villages from Warkworth down to Dunedin. We have an exciting opportunity for a proven Design Manager to join our in house Design team at Summerset.
Job Description We are looking for a  Design Manager  to join our in-house Design team in Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch.
Reporting to the Group Design Manager you will be leading the design and consultants on allocated projects. Our projects are based all over the country and contain both commercial and residential buildings that are designed in-house. You will be an experienced team leader that can mentor and motivate the design team members to excel, be able to plan your own and your teams work to make sure your project is set up to succeed.
Working in Summerset's Design team brings with it several unique aspects. Our design and build model provide exposure to the buildability and commercial aspects of the construction process through regular contact with experts within the same team. Being part of a wider business also means stakeholders across different parts of Summerset, such as Marketing, Sales and Operations who are all involved in feedback to the Design team. Our BIM process and innovation are industry leading.
