Details of the offer

Christchurch, CanterburyTait EnableFleet is a system that provides the customer with total visibility and management of their radio fleet, from one central point of control. It uses a set of details called a customisation profile, which details what type of values are used by radios. The data is quite complex in nature and stored in a Microsoft SQL Server database. Changes to the data are accomplished by manipulating a JSON file.

The goal of this project is to remove the need for JSON files by providing a Web UI to view and edit customization profiles. This will include adding new items, changing existing ones and making sure everything is valid.

Your role will be to design and develop a new webpage (ASP.net / C#) for our existing system. This page will contain a number of user inputs that allow users to view and edit parts of the system configuration. The UI will need to be interactive to some degree and may use technologies such as Javascript/Typescript to allow a richer experience.

Much of the webpage will follow well defined rules for validation and extend existing infrastructure that currently works using the JSON files. The existing system is considered too complicated for people to manage and so a key feature of this page will be to make the system easier for the user. In addition to this, we hope to be able to extend the system to include new features requested by our end users.
This project would be best suited to an enthusiastic developer with an interest in web and backend development. You'll have the chance to develop your skills in ASP.NET, C#, Javascript/Typescript, and SQL programming. You'll also gain experience of working in an agile team using JIRA, GIT, and unit testing tools.

Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand
Not have been previously employed with Tait Communications unless part-time or temporary.
