Consultant Developmental Paediatrician at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Hutt Valley, Lower Hutt Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location:Hutt Hospital, Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital We are looking for a Consultant Developmental Paediatrician to provide services to our Hutt Valley and Wellington communities. Thepositions can be solely Developmental Paediatrics with a Child DevelopmentService, or a mix of Developmental and General Paediatrics on negotiation Acore aspect of this role is holding joint clinics with Child DevelopmentalService providing child and whanau centred developmental assessments. The Child Development service see Childrenand young people (0 to 16) who have been identified as having a physical,sensory or intellectual disability or a combination of these, which is likelyto continue for a minimum of six months, children who are at risk of developingsuch a disability or have developmental delay, children who have AutisticSpectrum Disorder and whanau, families, caregivers and advocates associatedwith the above children. The Developmental Paediatrician role includes liaising with otheragencies and providing follow up as required. The position includes supervisionof RMO staff in the service and the provision of consultancy and advice toother practitioners both within Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District and inthe broader community. This role may includeopportunities to participate in child protection work and other communitypaediatric activities Vocationally registered inInternal Medicine (Paediatrics) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)FRACP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for with the MCNZWork effectively in collaboration with multidisciplinary teamAble to provide consistently high standards of medical careCapital, Coast andHutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown,Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital inPorirua - as well as theKapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
