To support this exciting growth, and the implementation of a new upgrade of the current ERP system, Hamilton Jet is looking for a new Company Accountant who is ready and willing to contribute a strong set of accounting skills to the Christchurch Head Office based Finance Team.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Company Accountant undertakes accounting functions within the Christchurch based office. The Company Accountant will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the current financial systems and their maintenance and operation. This will facilitate the upcoming core role in the ERP system upgrade implementation and its introduction into the company. The Company Accountant will:
Assist and champion the Movex M3 upgrade;
Maintain exchange rates and fixed asset depreciation schedules;
Prepare fixed asset project reporting;
Complete bank reconciliations;
Provide backup for payroll functions;
Prepare sales reports
Prepare GST and FBT returns;
Process journals, reconcile accounts;
Prepare the management accounts for the Marine Division.
This role needs an independently driven accountant who can provide the essential day-to-day accounting functions while having an eye for current and future system operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be process-oriented, driven and self-motivated. With an aptitude to be immersed in audit and commercial data analysis, the Company Accountant will maintain the current accounting functions, and be ready to take on new streamlined systems upon the system upgrade.
Confident and willing to roll your sleeves up; you will enjoy working with your team and your internal customers; providing valuable information, reporting and analysis to support decision making. While a specific qualification is not essential, relevant accounting training and experience is desired.
