Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity An opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist to join the Hamilton based Supported Transfer and Accelerated Rehabilitation Team (START) providing physiotherapy rehabilitation to patients in their own home. START is a collaborative programme which provides intensive rehabilitation for patients within their home environment for up to six weeks.
This role involves providing assessment and provision of physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes to clients in order to support discharge from hospital or to prevent admission. The role is working alongside other physiotherapists as well as nursing, medical, and allied health staff. The role includes providing education and support to health care assistants who support clients with their rehabilitation programmes. The position is ideal for a physiotherapist who is keen to advance their career with the support and enthusiasm of a close knit team. The role requires the successful applicant to be adaptable to change, resourceful, and flexible to the service needs and to have a genuine passion for working with patients and their whanau on their health journey.

The Physiotherapy service has approximately 90 staff including Physiotherapists, assistants and administrators that work across the large geographical area that is Waikato region. We have staff based at Waikato Hospital, our secondary hospital in Thames and our three rural hospitals in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui and across our many community bases in areas such as Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngaruawahia.

The role requires the successful applicant to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs and to have a genuine passion for working with patients and their whanau on their health journey.
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
NZ Physiotherapy registration and a current annual practicing certificate
Current valid full New Zealand drivers licence
You will need the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the physiotherapy and wider multi-disciplinary team across a variety of environments
You will have excellent communication skills in order to effectively liaise with patients, their whanau and other health care professionals
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience, however applicants with less experience will be considered.
