Reporting to the Regional General Manager, and under the strategic direction of the Director of Community Health Services, you will act as the key relationship lead across the Auckland District.A fundamental part of this role is to engage, empower and facilitate the St John vision to build stronger, healthier and more resilient communities. To achieve this, you will work with and through Area Committees, St John Community Health Services (CHS), and the wider St John to deliver high quality, sustainable health focused community development projects and initiatives. St John is a volunteer centric organisation, therefore, it is expected that you actively role model the importance of our volunteers through the promotion and integration of the Volunteer Sustainability strategy and St Johns recruitment and management approaches. Key Responsibilities:Provide an effective interface between St John, Area Committees (comprising of volunteers), and the communities they serveEmpower, equip and support Area Committees to deliver against agreed milestonesCreate opportunities for Area Committees to contribute to the development and success of othersSupport local Area Committees through any agreed transitionary processEnsure Area Committees are evaluated for strategic alignment and performanceDevelop collaborative approaches to local leadership, community support and partnershipsBuild and maintain proactive, constructive, and positive stakeholder relationshipsContribute to the development and delivery of the wider St John and CHS strategies, annual impact plans, budgeting and forecastingYou will bring:Experience in community development and engagement, ideally across a geographically spread business unitAn understanding and appreciation for the valuable contribution volunteering makes to building community capability and resilienceHighly effective communication, influencing and relationship management skillsEffective time management and organisational skills, and an ability to manage multiple, competing prioritiesExperience/exposure to working for a NFP would be an advantage, as would experience working closely with volunteersGood financial acumenSt John is a complex organisation that encourages and welcomes diversity, therefore your background and experience will need to show your ability to work in a similar environment.
