This role can be based in Alexandra or Cromwell, we offer a hybrid working model and you will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to enable you to work flexibly. The preferred work schedule would be 5 hours per day across 4 days per week, however, this can be made reasonably flexible for the successful candidate. Travel may be required from time to time, so a full clean driver's licence is essential.Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, a fundamental part of this role is about providing high level administrative support to our local Area Committees in the Central Otago District. Hato Hone St John Area Committees are made up of highly valued Tuao (volunteers) who have a strong community focus. Therefore, we are seeking someone who brings equal passion for meeting community needs and ideally good ties with iwi and relationships with local Maori Health Providers.This role will see you primarily responsible for supporting community engagement activities, engaging in promotional and fundraising initiatives, processing and authorising payment of invoices, overseeing property maintenance activities, along with other general administrative tasks. You will also write pieces to be included in the regional newsletter and social media, so a degree of creative writing ability and a high standard of written English is needed. Essential to this role is the ability to establish, build and maintain relationships.Skills and experience you'll bringPrevious administration and basic accounting experienceStrong organisation skills and excellent attention to detailConfidence in working across the MS Office SuiteA strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsA high level of professionalism and a 'can-do' attitude andFlexibility to work outside of normal business hours occasionallyAn understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is desirable as is a good knowledge of and affinity with tikanga Maori and Te Reo - if not, a genuine willingness to learn is required.Above all, you will have a genuine desire to help others and be passionate about the greater good of your community!A bit about usHato Hone St John is at the heart of our communities throughout New Zealand.
