Are you a member of the Maori Pharmacists' association wanting to apply your clinical knowledge daily as part of a Maori health care integrated care team? We have an exciting new role available to further expand the amazing Hawke's Bay clinical pharmacist facilitator team. This is your chance to join this team which is 'long standing' and continuously achieves great outcomes, as it continues to expand. We have a vacancy available for a Clinical Pharmacist based as part of the Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Maui, Hawke's Bay Maori health provider in Hawke's Bay. This role will be fully integrated within a Maori healthcare team based across primary and secondary care and support transition of care and appropriate prescribing of medicines in Maori patients and their whanau.
The Hawkes Bay clinical pharmacist facilitator team is the largest within New Zealand and has a great support structure with its own team manager, two team leaders, and a clinical educator. This close-knit autonomous team of Clinical Pharmacists offers a supportive environment in a role that will allow you to reach your potential to work at top of scope.
Your main responsibility is to provide direct clinical pharmacy services, focusing on the health literacy and educational needs to optimise utilisation of medicines and ensure appropriate prescribing is achieved in equitable manner for the Hawke's Bay Maori community.
To apply for the role, you must have the following:
Registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand holding a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) with no restrictions. Identify as Maori and be able to communicate with reasonable Te Reo. Work experience sufficient to demonstrate general pharmaceutical knowledge in core areas and pharmaceutical knowledge in management of long-term conditions. Current Driver Licence. Great communication and interpersonal skills Motivation to improve services and reduce inequities for Maori patients and their whanau Desire for lifelong learning and development as a pharmacist Research, interpretation and provision of medicine information.
