As our Catchment Management Lead - Biodiversity, you'll play a crucial role in prioritising and implementing initiatives to protect and enhance Hawke's Bay's biodiversity. You'll manage a team who look after a variety of environmental projects using a threat-based approach, adapting to changing conditions, and cultivating stakeholder relationships. Additionally, this role will seek funding opportunities, and take ownership of integrate biodiversity considerations into Council's work program.
We're looking for a dynamic individual with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and a track record of leadership in catchment or biodiversity management. If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for collaboration and a drive to make a difference, we want to hear from you.
Ideally you will also:
Bring your expertise to the table with a bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, ecology, conservation biology, or a related field. Demonstrate your leadership prowess with proven experience in catchment or biodiversity management, showcasing your ability to inspire and empower others.Navigate the complexities of environmental policy, regulations, and governance frameworks with confidence, leveraging your knowledge to drive positive change.Excel in building authentic, meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders, embodying our commitment to collaboration and inclusivity.Showcase your project management prowess, delivering impactful environmental projects on time and within budget, with a keen eye for detail.Embody a strategic mindset, with the creativity and foresight to develop innovative solutions to biodiversity challenges.Communicate with clarity and conviction, sharing your passion for the environment and biodiversity with others in a compelling and inspiring manner.Experience in securing external funding for environmental projects is highly valued, demonstrating your ability to turn vision into reality.Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility to keep up with the ever-changing nature of HBRC. The salary range for this role is between $97,830 to $108,700 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
