THE OPPORTUNITY
As an Audit Consultant, you will work in collaboration with the Operational Risk and Control team to provide insight into performance against strategic, operational, customer and performance objectives with a focus on our NSW Core business unit. Within this role you will be responsible for delivering upon a comprehensive control and compliance assurance program to support initiatives that impact on the schemes sustainability, consistency and customer service.
This role also presents the successful candidate with the opportunity to mentor the Compliance & Control team members and support the Compliance & Control manager with additional duties.
ABOUT YOU
You are a self-driven highly competent Risk or Audit consultant with a proven track record of adding value to the strategic partnerships with operational teams by:
Establishing, implementing and maintaining up-to-date compliance and control assurance frameworks and tools.
Devising sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting compliance and control data.
Planning, conducting, monitoring and testing of operational activity to ensure service provision is in line with expectation and delivering against established frameworks.
Investigating identified control failures or operational compliance issues and conducting root-cause analysis.
Analysing design effectiveness and operational effectiveness of control environments.
Identifying areas for improvement in the compliance framework and operations
Preparing reports to communicate outcomes of compliance and control testing activities and making recommendations for improvement opportunities
Coordinating and supporting on-site compliance and control assurance reviews conducted by external providers
Working with stakeholders (internal and external), including regulators and customers, to resolve problems
Identifying areas of superior business performance and potential business improvement
Building compliance and control initiatives into EML business processes.
Assisting in the development of team members as part of a high performing team
Being a values driven team player who actively contributes to a positive team culture.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Previous exposure to Compliance & Control/Audit/Risk in a Workers Compensation environment is highly desired
Big Four or Finance/IT Audit background is highly desired
Proven stakeholder management and consulting skills across both internal and external parties
Highly organised, time management skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Problem solving and decision making essential
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Knowledge of COSO is advantageous
Competent in the use of MS Word and MS Excel
