The opportunity: Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Managers at West Oak Family Office, the Associate will play an integral role on the team, collaborating on business planning. The incumbent will also act as the lead for a group of clients, complete reviews, and will perform asset gathering.
Key responsibilities include: Managing high and ultra-high-net-worth family relationships, and assisting in developing framework specific to each family to manage all aspects related to their wealth and financial lives.Collaborating with the team to ensure client communication and messages are consistent.Acting as a general administrative and operational resource for the Team (ex. Printing statements, tax slips).Completing administrative tasks related to account management, such as preparing DocuSign information.Preparing daily reports.Providing information where requested, on the status of a client's account and providing account balances, quotes, and other marketing information.Assisting in preparing for client meetings, including preparation of account opening documentation, product research, etc.Performing general administrative tasks (ex. preparing letters, client communication pieces, etc.).Maintaining client files, ensuring that all documentation and notes are compliant with industry regulations.Researching industry related information from a variety of sources as requested by Advisor.Keeping abreast of policy and procedure changes within the firm and industry.Committed to rigorous follow up relating to all client transactions to ensure proper processing and minimization of errors.Maintaining client files, ensuring that all documentation and notes are compliant with industry regulations.Performing other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will possess: A degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field of study.A minimum of 5 years' industry experience, working with high-net-worth clients.IR (or RR Licensing) with CIRO; this includes having successfully completed CSC, CPH, and WME courses.Previous financial planning experience is an asset.A financial planning professional designation such as WME, PFP, or CFP is considered an asset.In-depth knowledge of industry rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and a commitment stay abreast of changes.An understanding of, or willingness to learn more about, the fundamentals of advanced wealth planning.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to proactively organize and manage a high volume of time-sensitive tasks and work.Excellent attention to detail.A demonstrated, reliable work ethic with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.An ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and work requirements with the ability to navigate fluctuations in work volume.A demonstrated ability to communicate complex and technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders.An ability to maintain composure and communicate effectively in high-stress situations.An ability to exhibit high level of professionalism that allows clients to feel comfortable discussing personal, confidential information.Conditions of employment: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.Current and maintained registration as an IR or RR, including completion of all courses and experience requirements, with IIROC with the ongoing requirement to fulfill Continuing Education requirements.A background check, satisfactory to the employer, may be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.Wellington-Altus Private Wealth is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community and welcomes applications from women, racialized persons, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of all sexual orientations and genders.
