Associate Director

We're looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting company.

Your work will involve leading project design teams to conceptualise and deliver projects to the highest standards, exceeding client expectations. You will play a pivotal role in the technical, operational and financial performance of the practice, ensuring ongoing project success. In conjunction with the Architectural Practice Manager, you will shape and direct the team, develop talent and promote architectural excellence. You will also be responsible for business development, with support from the Directors.
As a practice, we specialise in multi-unit residential architecture throughout New Zealand. A large majority of our current and historic projects relate to existing buildings, often those affected by weathertightness failure or other building defects. Our strategic plan is to further expand our architectural offerings, building on our expertise, with a particular focus on new build developments.
We have a significant forward workload, including large projects in Auckland and Queenstown. Our established team of around 20 people comprises architects, architectural graduates and architectural designers. The architectural team needs a new leader who can build on its existing strong foundation and embrace our vision - Every building in Aotearoa is safe, healthy and sustainable.

Be an NZ registered architect
Have a proven track record of successfully running multiple projects and teams.
Be a natural leader, with the ability to motivate project teams to exceed KPIs.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a clear focus on client needs, working with integrity and delivering quality on every project.
Be able to establish and implement quality assurance and risk management processes and strategies.
Have comprehensive technical knowledge of NZ construction practices, relevant legislation and codes of practice.
