About the team / program
Reporting to the Team Lead, Whenuapai Maintenance you will be part of a wider team which is contracted to carry out specialist aircraft maintenance, working with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) at RNZAF Base Auckland (Whenuapai). You will be working alongside the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on RNZAF Hercules, Orion, Seasprite and B757 Aircraft carrying out second level and A Check scheduled maintenance.
About the role
The Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMS) is responsible for carrying out technical work as directed, to a high standard and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements in accordance with RNZAF Engineering standards & instructions, to ensure on-time service delivery to the customer.
This would include:
Performance of maintenance tasks, as directed by your Team Lead or Supervisor
Compliance with Airbus and RNZAF maintenance regulations, standards, instructions and other Company policies and procedures.
Contribution to continuous improvement in the work place
Ensuring all tooling is controlled and used in accordance with its purpose
Actively participate in safe work practices in compliance with Safety Management System requirements.

About you
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for carrying out technical work as directed, to a high standard and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
The skills and experience best suited to this role:
NZ recognised Aeronautical Engineering certificate - minimum Level 4; or, for ex-military personnel, completion of technical training
A minimum of 3 years' post apprenticeship experience in Aviation
Training and knowledge of military aircraft structures, components or systems
Practical experience of the RNZAF procedures and processes, including RNZAF CMMS
Effective time management skills with the ability to achieve business outcomes to a defined schedule
Demonstrates commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
Commitment to the value of teamwork and sharing of information and experience
