Job Description

Do you have experience in managing the delivery of publishing in both print and digital formats? Do you have excellent project management skills and focus on continuous improvement? Are you passionate about using your skills to help people connect with our environment and the important work the ministry is doing?
We are looking for an Advisor – Brand & Experience to join our team. You'll have a good understanding of publications and account management and you'll apply your skills to make sure the performance of the Ministry for the Environment brand grows and is positioned correctly and support staff across the Ministry to be advocates for the brand.
Our Environment Aotearoa report has shown that our natural environment is under pressure, and overwhelmingly our research shows that New Zealanders want to make a difference. You'll be supporting an integral and important piece of work to shape and reinforce our identity and build trust and credibility. The role sits within the team, which is tasked with inspiring Kiwis to take action in their daily lives, to help influence the system to create change and encouraging businesses to act.
People want to know more about what they can do – and here at the Ministry, we have evidence, facts and information that can help shape the debate.
Your work will be diverse, and you will be involved in a variety of projects so your project management skills will be put to good use. A key part of your role will be working on our publications and involved in the brand delivery of this area. There will be the opportunity to be involved in the variety of work the team focuses on, however the core will be publications. You will also provide advice to a range of staff across the organisation, so your ability to build and maintain strong relationships is key. You'll need to be a solid all-rounder with a passion to help make New Zealand liveable, now and into the future. You will be part of busy team, so you'll be a self-starter with plenty of initiative.
This role sits within the Brand & Experience Team and reports to the Manager – Brand and Experience. Our team is tasked with the following for MfE:
Brand development and management
Publications management
Design management
Events planning and coordination
Marketing and sponsorship management
Channels planning and implementation
Here's what we want for this role:

A depth of experience in publications and how this can activate a brand.
Experience in project management and coordination.
Experience in brand management and/or marketing
Experience in agency management, sponsorship, events and channel management is desirable.
Tertiary level qualification in marketing and/or communications-related disciplines, with a minimum of two years relevant experience
Ability to analyse complex information from a variety of sources to identify risks and opportunities
An understanding of Te Ao Maori
Comfortable building and maintaining trusted relationships at all levels of an organisation and externally
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Understanding of Government processes and procedures would be an advantage
Someone who is happy with rolling their sleeves up and getting involved where they are needed
