Accounting & Tax Team Leader

What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to lead our Client Accounting and Tax Services function. In this position you will supervise a team of up to 12 staff, providing operational management and oversight of the Accounting and Tax Services Central team. You will:
Manage and report on accounting and tax services workflow, to ensure efficient outputs across the team, and maximised revenue
Provide sound, high quality advice on complex technical matters ensuring that accounting standards at the highest level are achieved, this may involve liaison with external agencies where appropriate
Produce financial statements for external customers as per GAAP, IFRS and the Financial Reporting Act
Ensure that accounting and tax work is monitored for adherence to, and compliance with, professional standards as determined by both external and internal requirements
Further develop your team into a high performing, co-ordinated team which manages its services consistently. Providing motivation, guidance and support to direct reports via regular feedback and coaching
What do I need to be successful?
To be successful in this position we'd expect your experience to reflect demonstrated success in leading staff and workflows to deliver to customer expectations in an accounting service provision environment. We expect you'll be CA qualified, from a practice environment, and have technical experience across general tax and accounting, and ideally have trust tax and trustee accounting experience.
As an experienced leader you'll be accustomed to motivating, developing and mentoring your team and without question you'll have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the proven ability to foster great relationships with your team and the wider business.
