Job Description We are currently looking for an Accountant to join our hardworking and tightknit team on a 12-month fixed term contract. As a vital member of the NZ Accounting team, you'll play a key role in collaboration with the other members of the team and in support of the NZ Accounting Manager. Your focus will be on a variety of key processes within the New Zealand agency, including but not limited to statutory submissions, financial reports, budget preparation, financial audits, and directing agency finance functions. A standout element of this position is your active involvement in pinpointing opportunities to enhance financial processes and elevate service delivery to diverse stakeholders. The reason for this fixed term role is to backfill the current incumbent who has been seconded to a global project to enhance our commitment to continuous improvement. Here is some of what you will be doing: Preparing monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports Tax reporting and inventory processing Assist in agency finance team goal setting, KPI's and performance improvements Prepare reconciliations, overhead reporting and journals Develop best practices to enhance operational performance and productivity Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts Lead annual budgetary process for agency Respond to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data Perform financial audit and prepare audit reports with recommendations from Corporate Office Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory submissions Maintain accurate and complete general ledger Other duties as required Qualifications Here's what you'll bring to the table : A tertiary qualification at a Bachelor level in Accounting/Finance (or similar field) Advance Level Microsoft Excel skills At least 3 years of experience in Accounting Great communication and organisational skills Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team This role will require you to bring strong financial literacy with a solution focused approach. You are a collaborative team player who builds strong relationships across functional lines and thrives on adding value. You will be confident in juggling competing work demands by assessing different work priorities and managing expectations for yourself and others – your ability to logically analyse information will be key to your success in the role. This role is 12-month fixed term role based in either Parnell or our Richard Pearce Drive (Airport) office. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
