We are looking for a highly capable and committed leader to join our Y1 whanau. The successful candidate will be an exemplary teacher, have the ability to build effective relationships with all, inspire staff, and contribute positively to professional teaching and learning. You will work closely with our other school leaders and there will be plenty of opportunities to further develop your leadership skills and teaching and learning pedagogy. All candidates must hold a current New Zealand teaching registration. A facilitator, a mentor, a teacher, a learner, part of a team leveraging off collective and individual strengths for the benefit of learners. A person who: Models our four core values every day Loves people and is focused on the wellbeing of the whole person Builds strong working relationships with the total staff so the school functions effectively as a whole Is an authentic person, rather than a position Takes overall responsibility for tone, planning, assessment, and reporting for their Whanau Has a strong working content knowledge and effective pedagogy of the current literacy and numeracy practices across the curriculum Wants to grow in leadership skills and is open to learning Takes responsibility for the performance management system implementation of all teachers/ learning assistants in the Whanau Is strategically organised and forward-looking (modelling meeting deadlines before expecting others to), managing themselves as a professional Ensures open communication between colleagues and between school and the wider community.
