Sport Bay of Plenty is seeking a passionate and capable Women and Girls Lead who can provide leadership and support across the sport sector in the Bay of Plenty (BOP).
You will be responsible for working directly with external stakeholders and in collaboration with Sport BOP staff to 'shift the dial' on female participation trends by influencing the quality and accessibility of physical activity for women and girls. This role is ultimately working towards sustainable system change in our region that has a positive impact and an increase in sustained physical activity levels for women and girls.
This will be achieved by:
Understanding the current landscape to identify areas of opportunities in youth sport for maximum impact Advocating on behalf of all women and girls, ensuring our sector is responding to their current and future needs, motivations and barriers Influencing systems and structures within youth sport and across the sector to better support participation and retention of females (ages 12-24) Building collaboration and capability across the wider BOP & regional partner network to improve outcomes for women and girls The successful individual will have:
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to lead through empowerment and collaboration An understanding of sport and active recreation, its wider value to society and how it can be used as a vehicle to improve the wellbeing of women and girls Strategic thinking A high level of communication skills with the ability to present clearly to a wide range of audiences in a variety of situations.
