You will play a vital role in managing the maintenance welding operations, ensuring the safety of personnel, the quality of welds, and efficient use of resources. Effective leadership, technical knowledge of welding processes, and attention to detail are key skills for success in this role.
No day will be the same and you will need to think on your feet juggling priorities. You will be working side by side with a diverse group of maintenance professionals' who work on anything from 400 tonne diggers to small components – from the Steel Mill to the Quarries the variety is huge!!
Responsibilities: Supervision and workload scheduling for the teamJob management in consultation with the Workshop Managers, Estimators, Stores, and Support staffQuality ControlRead and interpret plans drawings and diagrams.Complete job cards and associated documentationConduct inspections and tests collating documentation relating to welding, materials inspection, and test.Problem solving and customer liaison.About You: Proven experience as a leading hand or similarMinimum 5 years maintenance welding and fabrication experience (Heavy Equipment)Qualified Fitter/Welder with a high level of technical skillAppropriate welding qualifications (level 4)Experienced in thermal cutting processes.Good computer skillsAbility to prioritise effectively and organise self and others.Mining / Forestry industry equipment experience ideal.Happy to be on the tools.If you know the difference between a PFC and RHS we want to hear from you!
