Web Developer

Nelson, NelsonWe are looking for a web developer to take on a wide variety of work from our growing domestic and international client portfolio and own web-based software products.
The work includes building websites, programming custom website functionalities, writing web crawlers, building features for SaaS products, wrangling data, and more. The work is fast-paced and varies from day to day.
Candidates should be based in New Zealand and available to work during the week in our Nelson based office, or working remotely from around New Zealand your own home or office.
Full time & part time positions are available.

Our ideal candidate has the following:
Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
Create and maintain software documentation.
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our client’s sites and apps.
Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent.
The role is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites and applications, from layout to function and according to a client’s specifications.
The role will also be responsible for building and maintaining back-end systems related to our client’s websites and web applications. Strive to write well designed, efficient and maintainable code that has no or few side-effects within the scope of the client’s specifications.
Your responsibilities:
3 years minimum in web development.
Knowledge of and experience with PHP and MySQL.
Experience programming for WordPress.
Experienced in Git and managing version control.
Front-end web development experience including HTML, JS and CSS.
Familiarity with Python, Node and ReactJS.
Familiarity with Linux environments.
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn is a must.
